Romans 8:12
We have no obligation to the sinful nature. This is the verse I needed to hear today. The feeling that I could go outside of God’s will in choosing a direction for my life makes me fearful. But to go outside of God’s will is to disobey God and according to this verse I have a say in the matter. The enemy tries to make it seem like it isn’t my choice, that sin is inevitable and to make me hope or rather, fear for what sin may come to pass. But by the Spirit, I can choose to follow God’s ways and put to death that sin that tries to control me. I can walk in God’s ways because He has made a way for me to do so—by the Spirit. I am not a slave to sin, I am God’s, and He has put the Spirit in me so that I can be led by Him… I have the freedom to follow Him. Don’t let the enemy convince you otherwise.
At the end of my life, I want to make sure there's no more gas left in the tank. No unused opportunities or hours wasted on petty things. To lead a life that is characterized by "spending all the gas in your tank" and always moving forward is to fully obey God and leave all the consequences to Him.
